Sustainable design videos
I came across some great videos on sustainability in design via While the Earth Burns, although I’d heard about them elsewhere. I’m still working through watching them all, but there is plenty of interesting information there. A lot of people tend to think of pollution as coming from cars and factories, but the fact is that a lot of pollution comes from heating and powering our homes, although often enough the power sources is hundreds of kilometers away. For those people who think environmentalism means tree-hugging and “going back to living in caves,” the fact is a lot of good could come from slower and more careful construction of buildings and using new technology to keep them warm and bright.
The videos are available here, under “podcasts,” and some are available on YouTube as well.
